Knitting and Stitching Show Exhibition 2013

The Crafts Council of Ireland (CCoI) will co-ordinate the fourth exhibition of textiles in conjunction with our member organisations (GANS: Guild Associations Network and Societies) at the Knitting and Stitching Show, Dublin from 31st October to 3rd November 2013. The title and theme is PATTERN.

Brief: Pattern appears everywhere in our world from Natural to Industrial forms. Natural patterns include spirals, meanders, tiling, cracks, and those created by symmetries of rotation and reflection. Natural, woven, texture, repeated units, modular structures, geometric, anti pattern, radical manipulated form. Work in this exhibition is to be made in response to Pattern. It can take the form of literal or abstract interpretation, function and non-function, wearable and non-wearable. Pieces must be contemporary in design and can be in any textile media and technique.

Selection: Work will be selected on the basis of excellence in design and making, fit within the overall exhibition and creative interpretation of the brief. Work must have been made within last 3 years and not shown in the Knitting and Stitching Show or in any CCoI exhibitions previously. Successful makers will have their work photographed and exhibited in the Knitting and Stitching show.
